RFD Stage 2 - Offset Swing arm

Designing the swing arm was the 2nd step in the X-bike design process. Using Alibre 3D CAD software I came up with the basic offset swing arm shown in the photo. Using 2"X4" rectangular steel I fabbed the main arms and crossmember, tigging it all together on an alignment fixture which I made specifically for the job. The pivots are high strength ball bearing rod ends.
